https://www.istudy-china.com/      Related What real benefits can I get by studying in China? Hello! I am Clara, originally from Spain, but spent a semester abroad in China on University of Nottingham Ningbo. As a student there I benefited from many things that I couldn’t have possibily learned in my home university. Studying abroad is a decision that requires courage. Even more, if it’s in a foreign country with a very different culture than yours. I think there are many things to take away from China. From culture, to future job perspectives and of course achiving a higher level of mandarin I guess that most people try to work or study in China due to job opportunities. In this sense, it is indeed a country where engineer students will get the best formation possible, along with some experience, as in many universities there are interships programs. For example, University of Nottingham has links with many important companies like Huaweii or Microsoft. Also, it h...

https://www.istudy-china.com/      Pretty much. As far as mainland China goes, my experiences are only on the teaching side at third- and second-tier schools, so I can’t speak to the quality at some place like Beijing University. But it is my opinion that many and probably most of the teachers at the schools where I’ve lectured care very little about teaching. Incidentally, they care even less about research (Just plagiarize a paper or slap together some received wisdom with fake statistics once or twice a year. Avoid both the flashy and the substantial. After all, your paper now needs to pass Party review before submission to a journal). It seems that what they do care about is having a decent social status, a stable salary, a nice vacation, and a faculty discount in the cafeteria. In other words, they’re typical state employees in a flabby bureaucracy. I cannot tell you how often I’ve seen teachers essentially lecturing at the air, because their students occupy s...

https://www.istudy-china.com/      I’d like to answer in the perspective of a Chinese student. Pros: Low tuition fee together with high acceptance rate. Sometimes even with a scholarship. Chinese are always very envious about that and sometimes blame our government for that. Privileges. Foreigners are first-class citizens compared to ordinary Chinese. I’d tell you a story, once a Japanese lost a bike, and it was found by the police just couple of days later, which was incredible for Chinese. Low labor prices. For example, you can take a taxi for 3km with less than 2 USD in most cities.(Maybe all the cities.). Eat out with 14 USD/person would be quite satisfying. (Actually 2 USD is about the average in the school canteen.) Teach English. As long as you are a white native speaker, 20 dollars/hr. is quite easy to earn in this developing country. (That’s higher than the Part-time job in the McDonald, right?) Professionals can even earn 100 USD/hr. Safety. Anyway I had ...

https://www.istudy-china.com/      Related What is it like for a foreigner to work or study in China? I've done both: Study: It's been a truly unique experience, I've met people from places I've never thought I would know anyone from, or even knew existed, like: Korea, Azerbaijan, Japan, Russia, Mali, the list goes on and on.. Had roommates from Grenada, Djibuouti, Senegal, France and Mongolia, pretty diverse if you ask me. Then of course you can presence Chinese culture and ridiculously fast development by yourself, oh and learn Chinese which is pretty useful and a beautiful language, if you put in the required effort/interest. Now the bad, well there is the pollution, traffic, lots of people, yes we all know.. But, if there is something I truly, truly dislike and feel dissapointed about is China's educational system, because: It only encourages memorizing stuff from books. Feels very fake (Teachers didn't even know what classes I had to take, handling empty ...
